July, 1954. The Boeing 707 passenger jet makes its first flight and launches the jet age. at the request of PAN AM, Rolex released its new GMT-Master (reference 6542), a watch that could simultaneously track two time zones, an important function for long-haul pilots. for me, the PAN AM Master is one of the most beautiful watches ever created. german Rolex customizer Blaken now offers a meticolous recreation of the PAN AM watch. it's limited to 158 pieces (PAN AM's fleet size at that time) and can be acquired here, the price is on request though!
